Violent robbery in Osoyoos

The Osoyoos RCMP have video surveillance of the ATM robbery at Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos, early Friday morning.

In the incident, two suspects can be seen entering the front lobby occupied by a front desk security guard. The first suspect sprayed the employee with bear spray. The second followed behind carrying a red dolly.

With the guard incapacitated from the bear spray, the suspects quickly made their way past the front desk and towards the ATM machine removing it out the back door.

In the video surveillance, both suspects are observed wearing dark clothing including hoodies and facial covering.

The RCMP received a later call of the ATM being found on Mt. Baldy Road. It had been pried open and all of the money was stolen.

Violent robberies and the theft of ATM machines are not common occurrences in the family friendly town and resort, leading the RCMP to believe the suspects targeted the machine and had knowledge of the surrounding area.

Should anyone recognize the suspects or have information that could lead to their apprehension, they are asked to contact the RCMP at (250) 495-7236.
