RCMP recover stolen trailer

On Feb. 3, the Oliver and Osoyoos detachment, assisted by the South Okanagan Regional Detachment, recovered a trailer stolen from the Penticton area on Jan. 16.

The RCMP made the find at a residence in the 4000 block of Highway 97.

Members also recovered a firearm, ammunition, a battery charger and other items which were reported stolen as a result of a break and enter in Osoyoos in late January.

During the same week, on Feb. 5, the Oliver detachment received a report a white 2009 Hummer had been stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of McKinney Road.

The vehicle was recovered later in the day, abandoned in a parking lot off Spillway Road, behind Centennial Park in Oliver.

On recovery of the vehicle it was noted that the battery was exhausted and side air bags had been deployed, likely from being driven off the road by the thief or thieves.
