Osoyoos RCMP reports scams

The Osoyoos RCMP received a report on Feb. 9 of another scam making the rounds in Osoyoos.

Individuals claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency have been calling people and telling them they owe the CRA money, and if they don't pay $750 right away they will be arrested the following day.

The RCMP asks that people confirm all information before sending money or paying bills which could be fraudulent.

In the same time period, it was also reported that there were fraudulent ads on Kijiji advertising rental properties in Osoyoos and Oliver.

The ad asks prospective renters to call a phone number where a subject states they are in Ohio due to a sick family member and if the renters send them deposit money they will send the keys for the rental property to the new renters.

This is a scam and not true, according to the RCMP.
