Although FM broadcasting is the overall goal of Peach City Radio, it plans to provide a concurrent online stream for web-based listening.
In keeping with that, the group has announced that the stream is available now at www.peachcityradio.org.
Listeners can simply click on the LISTEN NOW button on the front page of the website to hear scheduled programming, 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
The Penticton-based community radio society announced a soft launch of their online stream in late 2013 and have been monitoring the service and taking in feedback since then.
"The time and effort we have put into establishing the online stream of programs will benefit us when we eventually come to broadcasting an FM signal," said president Dave Del Rizzo. "In the meantime, we hope to offer listeners the opportunity to sample what Peach City Radio might eventually sound like.
There are a lot of great programs being created by our members that anyone can hear via our online stream, and listen to via our website program archive as well."
Among the offerings on the stream are music programs, featuring local artists, and spoken word shows that highlight local talks, people and events.
