A committee of the whole meeting is slated for 1:30 p.m. Monday at Penticton City Hall, regarding a presentation on the Spiller Road Reservoir Road Neighbourhood Concept Plan.
A public question period will take place at the meeting, prior to an adjournment to in-camera.
Highlights from the regular council meeting include reconsideration of bylaws and permits, including the downtown economic investment zone bylaw.
Items under staff reports are a special event area endorsement for Upper Bench Estate Winery; a zoning amendment bylaw for 948 Naramata Road, regarding construction of a craft distillery; the 2013/2014 amended custom transit annual operating agreement; fire inspection frequency policy and quarterly update for the period ending Dec. 31, 2013.
In regards to the fire inspection, the discussion will focus on adjusting inspection frequencies, allowing the fire department to focus on buildings, such as restaurants, industrial workshops, care homes and day cares, all considered high risk occupancies, while reducing the frequency of inspections on all lower risk properties and occupancies.
Under correspondence, nominations for the province's highest recognition of excellence and lifetime achievement, the Order of British Columbia for 2014, are now being accepted.
