Nominate a business for excellence
The Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for the 27th annual Business Excellence Awards.
According to John Devitt, general manager of the chamber, there are revisions including updates and additions to the awards this year to freshen things up and generate more buzz.
Along with the Business of the Year, Business Leader of the year and several other recognized awards presented by the chamber, there will be the addition of Family Friendly Business Excellence, Workplace Culture Excellence, Sustainability Excellence, Professional Service Excellence and Agricultural/Agri Business Excellence.
"We hope to recognize a wider selection of the incredible businesses operating in Penticton," said Devitt, referring to the addition of the new awards.
The Business Excellence Awards gala has long been a fixture in the community. Devitt hopes this year will continue the momentum the chamber has generated since its relaunch in September.
"We want people to come and enjoy themselves," he said. "We have some great entertainment lined up, including live music from the Kelowna band "Easy Fix."
Nominations are open until Jan. 31. Full awards criteria can be found on the chamber's website.
To submit a nomination, people are asked to provide the business name, contact information and indicate the award they are being nominated for.
The chamber will then contact the nominee directly.
"We hoped to simplify the process this year," Devitt explained. "Give us the basics, and we'll take care of the rest."
Tickets are now on sale for the Feb. 22 event to be held at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Seats can be reserved by calling the chamber office, or by going online to www.penticton.org.
