More mailbox theft in South Okanagan
The Oliver RCMP detachment is reporting that on Jan. 11, they received a report that two sets of mailboxes, approximately 20 in total, had been broken into at the intersection of Willowbrook Road and Lillian Road in Oliver.
The RCMP are investigating the possibility that these thefts are related to the numerous other recent reports of thefts from rural and municipal mailboxes.
Any information with regard to possible suspects or similar incidents in the Oliver area would be greatly appreciated.
In keeping with these reports, the public is again reminded that it would be prudent to empty mailboxes daily in order to prevent the loss of mail.
Reports the RCMP have two people in custody for mailbox thefts have not been officially confirmed.
