Oliver property subject of second fire

A fire completely destroyed a fifth wheel trailer on a rural property south of Oliver, early Friday,

Firefighter and Oliver Fire Department spokesman Rob Graham said the fire department responded at 1:10 a.m. to a report of a large fire on Road 6.

Fire chief Dan Skaros was the first on scene and indicated it was the trailer on fire. It was fully involved when other firefighters arrived on scene.

Because the blaze was in a rural area, two pumper trucks and a water tender responded.

A house, located around 200 feet from the trailer, was not burned in the fire.

A woman who lives in the house, told firefighters there was a person living in the trailer who was unaccounted for.

Firefighters searched the trailer but did not find the person, believed to be a man.

It is the second fire at the property on the corner of Highway 97 and Road 6. The first in April, also burned a trailer.

Someone was also living in that trailer at the time. Graham believes that person was a man.

The cause of the most recent blaze remains under investigation by the fire department. The RCMP will handle finding the person who lives in the trailer, said Graham.
