Inquiry date set in murder case
Oct 22, 2013 / 11:00 am
A preliminary inquiry date has been set for the man accused of shooting two people and wounding a third in Princeton.
The starting date for the four day inquiry for John Ike Koopmans is now set for Feb. 11, 2014. It was originally set for November, but the date was changed due to overbooking by the defence.
Koopmans, 49, is charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, stemming from the incident that took place on a rural property in Princeton on March 30.
Rosemary, (Rose), Fox, 32, and Robert Keith Wharton, 44, both of Princeton, were found dead on a property on Old Hedley Road.
A second man, who received life threatening wounds and was hospitalized, was also found at the scene. He was not identified.
Koopmans was arrested in a camper in the immediate area the next day.
The accused is currently in custody at North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam.
