A four-year-old child is in the care of a family member after a Penticton couple were arrested for drug trafficking earlier this week.
Members of the Penticton Drug Task Force raided an apartment complex in the 900 block of Fairview Avenue Wednesday.
Inside the apartment police seized 15 grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of cocaine.
Police also recovered cell phones, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a replica air pistol handgun.
They also stumbled across the four-year-old girl watching TV amidst the day's activity.
RCMP investigators contacted the Ministry of Children and Family Development who arranged to have the girl placed with a suitable family member.
The couple, both 28, were held in custody at the Penticton RCMP Detachment.
Both were eventually released.
Mandy Jo Squakin faces charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in cocaine and methamphetamine.
