Drowning victim found in Okanagan Lake

The body of a man who drowned in Okanagan Lake In September was recovered late last week, according to Penticton Search and Rescue.
Search manager Dale Jorgensen said the man was found on Oct. 10 by the Ralston's from Boise, Idaho and search and rescue recovered the body the same day.
The BC Coroners Service has identified him as Dominic Cox, 25, of Abbotsford.
"We put in a lot of effort, and we are relieved there can now be closure for the family for their tragic loss," Jorgensen said.
The man fell off the front bow of a boat into the lake on Sept. 11, as it returned to the Penticton Marina, and the search began Sept 12.
Members of the Penticton RCMP were initially involved and Vernon Search and Rescue came down and assisted on five of six days.
Additional search days in the south end of the lake included Sept. 13, 14, 21, 22 and 27.
In the meantime, the family contacted Gene and Sandy Ralston, an Idaho couple who specialize in underwater searches.
They arrived Oct. 7, and after getting updated information from people on the boat the accident was 1 km south of where the search was initially conducted, they found the body on Oct. 10.
The man was brought to the surface and search and rescue recovered him from there.
