Favourable weather conditions and overnight firefighting have lead to 158 residents being allowed back into their homes. Returning residents are reminded that they are on Evacuation Alert and should be prepared to leave with little notice. This brings the total of people on Evacuation Alert to 1,292.

258 residents remain on Evacuation Order. These residents may receive assistance with food, lodging and clothing by visiting the Emergency Support Services reception centre at the Westbank Lions Community Hall, 2466 Main Street in West Kelowna.  A comprehensive updated map of Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert areas is available here.

Today, the Unified Command involving BC Wildfire Management and local structural fire departments will be working to fully contain the fire, which has not grown beyond 200 hectares and is 75 per cent contained.

Fire crews easily snuffed out a few minor flare ups found during overnight patrols and report a quiet night on the fire front.

Local government staff will be conducting hazard and safety assessments throughout the fire zone as part of the process to ensure the safety of residents.
