Long-awaited Title For Immaculata

Selected as the most valuable player, the most inspirational player and a first-team all-star, Emma Johnson led the Immaculata Mustangs to their first B.C. Catholic girls basketball championship since 2004 on Saturday in Surrey.

The Grade 12 forward scored 33 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Mustangs defeated the host Holy Cross Crusaders 78-41 in the tournament final. The win was the culmination of 3-0 weekend for the No. 2-ranked AA team in the province.
