Jackson Whistle looked the part in backstopping the Kelowna Rockets’ to a 5-0 Western Hockey league victory over the host Portland Winterhawks on Thursday.
Named the Canadian Hockey League’s goaltender of the week on Tuesday, the 18-year-old was tested early by the Winterhawks (5-10-0-2) last night. Whistle stopped all 15 shots he faced in the first period, while his teammates — Rourke Chartier and Justin Kirkland — made it 2-0 after 20 minutes.
