Career Change For Danny Watkins

According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, West Kelowna’s Danny Watkins has retired from the National Football League.

The former Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins guard apparently will return to his passion for being a firefighter — in the Dallas area.

A first-round NFL draft choice of the Eagles in 2011 out of Baylor University, Watkins, who will turn 30 in November, played just two seasons with the Eagles before being released. He was picked up by the Miami Dolphins and appeared in only one game in 2013.
