Alves, N.E.T. In Royal Cup Finale

Down to 10 players by the end of the game, the defending champion Alves Bros. held off the Mario Towing Celtic for a 3-1 victory on Sunday and earned a berth in the Royal Cup final.

Alves, winners of the storied soccer silverware the past two years, will have the opportunity to make it three consecutive titles on Sept. 13 when they meet the North Enderby Timber FC of the North Okanagan Men’s Soccer League in the final at Mission Sportsfields. N.E.T. received a free pass into the championship when FBFC of Kelowna forfeited its scheduled semifinal match on Sunday.
