Fitting End to Falcons’ Season

It was a disappointing finish to a disappointing summer baseball season as the Falcons couldn’t overcome a nine- run first inning on Sunday and went on to lose their season finale 11-6 to the visiting Walla Walla Sweets.

The loss left the Falcons’ West Coast League record at 15-39 and mired in last place in the East Division, 12 games back of the first-place Yakima Valley Pippins.

On a more positive note, the Falcons handed out their team awards before the final game at Elks Stadium. Sam Murphy was selected as the pitcher of the year, while catcher Colton Waltner University of San Diego) was the player of the year.
