Samantha Richdale of Kelowna has earned an exemption to the LPGA’s Canadian Pacific Women’s Open later this month.
A fourth-place finish at the PGA Women’s Golf Championship of Canada on Thursday and a second-place standing overall on the Canadian PGA tour made it possible for the 30-year-old to gain entry to the Canadian Open set for Aug. 18-24 at the London Hunt and Country Club.
Richdale will join a world-class field in London, Ont. that includes a number of confirmed LPGA Tour stars including two-time defending champion and Rolex Rankings No. 2 Lydia Ko, Rolex No. 1 Stacey Lewis, No. 3 Inbee Park, No. 5 Lexi Thompson and No. 12 Paula Creamer.
