Zone 2 Teams Up For More Medals

A powerplay goal with less than two minutes remaining lifted the Thompson-Okanagan (Zone 2) field lacrosse team to a 10-9 victory over Fraser River/Delta (Zone 4) and the bronze medal at the 2014 BC Summer Games in Nanaimo.

Ryan Hughes, taking a pass from Keaton Brownlee, scored the winner, completing a comeback that saw the Thompson-Okanagan representatives trailing 6-2 at halftime.

Zone 2 scored two quick goals to start the second half, while Beau Chetner evened the contest at 9-9 with five minutes to play, setting up Hughes’s heroics.
