Megan Osland likes her position going into Thursday’s third round of the Canadian women’s amateur golf championship in Woodstock, Ont.
The Kelowna golfer — four shots behind the leader, Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont. after two rounds — couldn’t say the same about a couple of lies on Wednesday that cost her three strokes to par.
Cruising along at 2-under after seven holes on the Craigowan Golf and Country Club course, Osland hit her second shot on the par-4 eighth hole into a greenside bunker. That was bad enough, but even worse was that ball was plugged right up against the lip of the trap.
