Volunteers Pushed To The Limits

More than 200 volunteers, 20 powerboats, two RCMP boats and a multitude of other watercraft were pushed to the limit on Saturday during the 66th annual Interior Savings Across The Lake Swim.

While about 200 of the 770 swimmers who started the event — in nine waves beginning at 8 a.m. at the old ferry docks on the west side — had to be retrieved from the choppy water and fast-moving current in Okanagan Lake, race director, Peter Rudd was pleased to announce at about noon that: “All swimmers are accounted for.”
