Belle Leads By Three at B.C. Amateur

It turns out Michael Belle was just warming up at the Kelowna Golf and Country Club last week.

The 22-year-old from Burnaby finished in a tie for seventh place at the 63rd annual Ogopogo Invitational with a 54-hole 1-under par 215, but he takes a three-stroke lead into the final round of the B.C. men’s amateur golf championship today.

Belle, a 2014 Simon Fraser University grad, shot a second straight par 71 on Thursday after an opening-round 69 on the Seymour Golf and Country Club course in North Vancouver. His 211 total is three better than runner up Adam Svensson of Surrey and four in front of Jordan Lu and James Fahy of Vancouver and Spencer Weiss of Sammamish, Wa.
