Strong Finish By Local T & F Athletes

Central Okanagan track and field athletes wound up their season with a major medal haul at the B.C. Athletics provincial championships in Kamloops on the weekend.

Disappointed in his performance a week earlier at the Canadian junior championships in Ste. Therese, Que. — despite a silver medal in the hammer throw — Aaron Stroda finished the 2014 season on a high note, winning two gold medals and a bronze, while posting three personal-best efforts.

Stroda, competing as an independent athlete, and coached by his mother Verena Stroda, finished first in the junior (18-19) hammer throw and shot put, while placing third in the discus.
