B.C. Teams Falter At Red River Cup

Football BC’s two provincial under-16 football teams — including nine Kelowna-area players — finished with identical 2-4 records at the 2014 Red River Cup in Winnipeg.

Team BC Blue, led by head coach Nick Kawaza of the B.C. Junior Football League’s Langley Rams, defeated Nova Scotia twice for their two victories of the tournament. Team BC Orange, coached by last year’s gold medal-winning head coach, Sean Roden of the Nanaimo Redmen, posted wins over Nova Scotia and Team BC Blue in the seven-team tournament held July 6-12.
