Upset Win in Futures Doubles Final

Carl Eguez and Anderson Reed withstood the pressure of two tiebreakers against favoured opponents to complete their unlikely journey to the doubles championship at the ITF Kelowna Futures tennis tournament on Friday.

Unseeded going into the 16-team tournament, Eguez of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Anderson Reed (Daphne, Ala.), defeated No 4-seed Philip Bester of North Vancouver and Matt Seeberger of San Francisco 7-6, 7-6 in the title match at the Parkinson Recreation Centre courts.
