A proven winner behind the bench, Eric Blais hopes to transfer his vision and passion to the continuing success of the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association overall.
A 13-year veteran of the local coaching ranks, Blais has been hired as the new head coach of the 1,500-member KMHA. And while he’s still putting some finishing touches on his business as a commercial artist, Blais is already hard at work on his new job.
“I won’t start full-time until July 1, but I’m be putting in four or five hours a day laying the foundation,” said Blais on Wednesday when the KMHA made the official announcement of the paid position (two-year contract) left open by the retirement of Trevor Erhardt after five years with the association.
