A giant ball of endless fun
A local ski resort is getting world wide attention during BC's first family day.
Silver Star Mountain Resort has created the world's largest snowball, at 3.6 metres tall and weighing in at 18,000 kilograms, the snowball surpasses the previous record by 1.5 metres.
Marke Dickson, sales and marketing director, for the resort says the giant snowball is the new icon for the My1Pass and the endless fun offered at Silver Star.
The My1Pass is Canada’s first all-inclusive Season Pass and lift ticket, which entitles holders to a full-day downhill lift pass, access to Silver Star’s 55 kilometres of Nordic trails, 16 km of snowshoe trails, Tube Town Adventure Park and outdoor skating on Brewer’s Pond
Dickson says thanks to the My1Pass and the new February holiday, business is snowballing and that is what the massive winter monolith intends to symbolize.
"February business levels were always strong, anchored by the Alberta and Saskatchewan Family Day. Occupancy this BC Family Day weekend is up 30 per cent over last year. The resort is a busy and happening place, and we’re now set for an outstanding month."
Silver Star invites the public to follow along on Twitter and share their photos of the mountain and the giant snowball.
Use the hashtag #endlessfun and follow Silver Start @SilverStarMR throughout the month of February.
