Police Files for North Okanagan

Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a mischief complaint on Jan. 11 at the Downtown Activity Centre on Shuswap Street.

Police were told that an individual had been seen “spinning fire” behind the building, but was gone by the time officers arrived. They did however find many intoxicated youths and adults who were attending an all ages Hip Hop show at the centre. One adult male was arrested at the scene for causing a disturbance and being drunk in public.

On Jan. 12, a Salmon Arm RCMP member noticed an elderly female whose wheelchair had become stuck in the snow and ice. The officer was able to free her… all in a day’s work.

Later that same day, officers responded to a reported break and enter in the 3000 block of Cedar Drive in Blind Bay. They learned the home had been entered sometime between Jan. 5-12 and the front door had been broken. A telescope, an electric guitar and running shoes had been stolen.
