Man arrested after manhunt and crash
RCMP in the North Okanagan are investigating a third robbery in four nights.
On Dec. 31 at about 6 p.m. the Rosedale Grocery at 2640 Rosedale Ave. in Armstrong was robbed. The male suspect jumped the counter, opened the till and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was confronted by the business owner with a bat.
The suspect was described as 6 feet tall in mid to late 20’s, slender build with a grey toque and beige jacket. Information from witnesses is that there was a second suspect waiting outside. The suspects fled in a maroon van.
Just before 9 p.m. the suspect van was located in Kamloops with a person of interest inside. The suspect was arrested after crashing the vehicle into a pole. He remains in custody in Kamloops.
Officers are looking into the possibility that this suspect may have been involved in all the recent robberies in the Enderby and Armstrong area.
