The do it yourself bride & the decorator

Every bride out there wants to have their vision unfold, so whether it be a do it yourself or bringing in a decorator, revolution has really changed the face of the wedding industry, There are now so many resources for brides to gather decor ideas and find out how to create them. This is fantastic for both decorator and bride because to a decorator there is nothing better than a creative and excited bride! Collaborating both creatively will ensure you have the most gorgeous wedding possible and the satisfaction that you were such a major part of it! Here are a few reasons why!

1) Creating your vision together

As a do it yourself bride, you have so many things happening and so much on your plate that you may not get a chance to execute all of the minor and major details that you are dreaming of. So tell your decorator what you need, and how they can do it for you. They will take your vision and make it happen because at the end of the day it is important that it is your own. A decorator can be your Wedding Secret Weapon!

2) Cost, hassle and everything in between

Regardless of how many personal touches you create for your wedding, you have to get your “stuff” somewhere. Linens, napkins, lighting, drape, flowers - these items add up when you are purchasing them and can be such a hassle, so let someone else do it for you! You can save epic amounts of time and money by renting your wedding supplies, rather than purchasing. Also, by grouping together your entire decor from one supplier, you can eliminate hundreds of dollars in delivery fees and the stress of counting on five people to deliver instead of just one.

3) Putting it all into place

As a do it yourself bride, you may or may not have the time and resources to set up and decorate for yourself or for that matter the family and friends to support it. For those that don’t, put the responsibility on your decorator. They will set up your rental items and lay out your hand crafted projects at the same level of care and with attention to detail. For those that do have all the support and time they need, a decorator can also have your order packed and ready to go when you need it!

4) At The End of the Day

Weddings are a time to celebrate with family and friends. The last thing you want to worry about is mom staying behind to tear down the decor. Have that be the job of your decor team and sometimes venue staff! Rentals and the work go away, and all of your gorgeous memories remain!

When all is said and done, I find many brides decide a decorator is either out of the budget, or will take away from their ability to create exactly what they are looking for. Both of these I don’t believe are true. However I understand it is sometimes hard to let go and completely trust in someone else to make sure you get what YOU want, but sometimes you won’t really know what you want until someone else adds a few minor touches to your idea!! A fresh eye is always helpful and being that you are a part of it you can be sure to save your extra money for your honeymoon.
