Make your wedding your own!

So everyone wants to have the wedding of their dreams and they want it THEIR wedding. You are going to go to venues who have all had weddings there before and perhaps even in the same color scheme, however, that’s okay because there are small details that can completely change it and make it your own. You are allowed to like the same cake or bouquet as someone else, because at the end of the day no two things will ever be exactly the same!

Here are a few simple ideas to make it your own:

1.  Custom Stationary - Now we have gone through stationary before, however it’s a very simple way to add your touch to it. There are artists in town that do one-of’s just designed for you.  For example, Dandelion Willows even draws custom pictures, like flowers to put on your stationary, which means no one else will have had that flower on that table number or invitation. Your guests should be able to see a little piece of you with even just a table number or name card. There is also a winery in town, Bounty Cellars, which lets you customize wine labels for your wedding with your name and date on them, which makes for a great keepsake.  Some venues in town either carry it or will order it in for you!

2.  Use your favourite color - Yes, it’s okay to love orange and add it in! I say orange because I had a bride who used the color royal purple for most of her accents.  We had runners and sashes in that color. This lovely lady, in order to accommodate her groom's love for orange, added just a few touches here and there throughout the room to personalize it just that little bit more. She incorporated it in the candy bar and in some branch screens. The room looked lovely! So yes, it’s okay to have that bright color amongst the pale pinks and pastels, because it makes it a little bit you throughout the room and it’s easy to find places to add.

3.  Make it fun and add a passion of yours into a guest book or favor!  This is one way that I believe is the easiest way to show every one a little bit of you. Your guest book - make it fun! Maybe playing games and puzzles are your thing or, why not make your guests sign Jenga blocks or puzzle pieces? Or perhaps you have a love for taking photos.  I had a bride and groom this year that made little film canisters (with the negatives you pull out) with their engagement photos. It was the perfect way to add them and it was a DIY project they did while watching a movie!!

So you can make that wedding so personalized with a few minor and inexpensive adjustments. Just make sure you create something that makes it YOUR day, because at the end of the day this is the one time in your life where you get to have an entire day meant for you both! Enjoy it and make sure you have fun with it!
