Men Not As Effective As Women

It was nice to see Nicki Hokazono apologize for her childish comment that the media "made" her say (my 7 year son old has come up with better excuses than that!), but it still isn't enough.

What I am referring to is her comments earlier this week about having too many men in Parliament and not enough women. Initially I thought "I agree, it is biased towards the male species, we definitely need more female input"

Then Nicki continued on to say that men "are not as good at being care givers or at child raising...and with the primary issues of this election being health & child care, that it is obvious why men can't do a good job as MP's because they can’t understand this issues like a woman can."

This comment offends me terribly, I am a 36 year old male, father of four, who is very involved in the raising & care of my children (and my 11 month old Granddaughter), who runs his own home based computer repair business. I work hard and raising and caring for my children as well as keeping a roof over their heads and food on the table. My children do not want for any needs and I totally understand all the aspects of their health and welfare.

For the "honorable" (and I use that word very loosely) Nicki Hokazono to suggest that she or any other female can do a better job at ANYTHING because men can't possibly be as effective at child care issues, because we are genetically incapable, because we have different genitalia is the most outrageous, inflammatory and down-right uneducated insult to men who love their children.

To Nicki Hokazono I say "Shame on you." Maybe you should follow some advice my parents passed down to me "Think before you open your mouth and say something you may regret!"

PS: I have attached a political comic from a local newspaper back when the NDP were in power as a reminder of how “good” things were back then. If the NDP get back in power, my family will be selling our home and leaving this province that we have spent most of our lives in.
