Letter: Bridge Traffic

To the editor:

I am writing concerning the discussions about the bridge. I don't believe that any problems are going to be solved in regards to traffic flow unless they prohibit left turns and have no traffic lights until you reach Richter Street. There are too many lights, and they really slow the traffic down. If Richter and Spall both passed over Hwy 97, through traffic would travel far more smoothly.

If you have to go a couple of blocks out of your way to your destination, big deal. As for the couplet system, it doesn't work well in Westbank and it won't work in Kelowna. It is a dinosaur when it comes to modern road construction. Abbott Street has just been upgraded to a beautiful street, conducive to walkers and cyclists, etc, and now you want to ruin it? Come on now.
