Letters to the editor

Westside growth ignoring the kids

To the editor:

I have watched Westbank grow considerably over the years.

They have built more and more stores, when many are left abandoned with graffiti strewn against the walls.

We have a state of the art police station and a steady increase in the law enforcement, but with the money that it cost to build this, we could have had a hospital and an arcade, or a rollerskating rink, maybe a bowling alley.

Maybe make the theatres more affordable, or better yet ask them what they'd like to see?

Can't they claim one of those abandoned buildings so our kids have an option on what to do with themselves?

This does not go for all kids but there is a large majority who seem to be wandering around aimlessly.

It is no wonder why depression and anxiety medications are a part of our daily life.

I hope somebody out there will listen
