Letters to the editor
Tackling bullying with poetry |
|
|
To the editor:
I did not want you to pick me out of a crowd, I did not want you to insult me out loud.
To throw me up against a wall, hoping that I fall.
To the ground, forgetting that I will stand up with the respect I found.
I don't enjoy being tossed around.
I did not want you thinking that I was easy prey, does it matter that I am white, brown, tall, short, big, small, straight or gay.
You don't know me. You're so blinded by self hate you don't see.
I know I am good inside, I know the jealousy you hide.
Being a bully is choice, there is a better way to use your voice.
Don't make me feel worse than you.
There was a time I did too.
I am okay, and you need to stay; far away. From me, let me be.
Take your horrible thoughts, and turn them around so the bullying stops.
I do not want you in my world, if your going to hurl.
Filth and pain at my soul, it will take a toll.
Mostly on you. You're the fool.
I stand tall against your words, I stand strong against your hand.
I stand.. |
