Eclipsing the 'sunshine tax' |
|
|
To the editor:
I am really sick and tired of people rolling over and accepting all the excuses for high gas, food and related prices because "we live in God's Country."
The "sunshine tax" is baloney.
What about Kamloops? They have great weather and much cheaper gas.
What is wrong with the politicians that they never go to bat for us?
Tax, Tax, Tax. It's really a shame that we have to accept it as the way things are in the Valley.
When we ask about gas prices, we never get a straight answer from our so called representatives that we elected.
Try sending emails to them and you will see what I mean. They all have secretaries that receive the emails and will thank you for your concerns (the standard political answer), but seldom hear from the person we elected, although Norm Letnick has answered me personally.
Unfortunately, his boss controls everything. It seems that seniors on fixed incomes do not qualify under the "Families First" program.
Everyone should send emails to our elected representatives and voice our concerns. Sitting back and complaining among ourselves will solve nothing except frustrate us further.
