To the editor:
Two articles in two days back my case against storage auctions.
First, I read on Castanet about gruesome body parts found in a storage locker in Florida, not an every day occurrence, but things closely associated and often found are illegal stuffed animals and animal parts, not to mention assault weapons of all kinds.
Then I read a message from the RCMP about fake ID on the rise, and the ease of altering birth certificates and SIN numbers.
So that’s evidence enough to back my argument about storage auctions to the public.
Far too many would take the five hundred bucks for the ID cards with out blinking an eye.
We do repos on an ongoing basis as a last resort, and find old and current IDs including passports quite often.
I don’t believe for a moment, as a licensed and bonded secure storage facility, that we have the right to even allow those things to pass by our gates.
No matter what the reason is that they couldn’t pay the storage fees, selling off the items to cover costs and the disposal thereof must be done.
But to release personal and illegal items to Joe Public, absolutely not.
