I work at a downtown located facility that has required us to lock the
bathroom doors. Even though we have locks, it still doesn't prevent the
bathrooms from being mis-used. So how do you think the bathrooms would be at City Parks when they aren't even being controlled on who uses them and
people cleaning and checking them on a regular basis?
I think it is a great idea to lock the bathroom doors in the winter at City Parks because it prevents the homeless people from doing drugs in there, or even living in there. Not many people even would use the bathrooms in the winter hours at parks, anyways, so why keep it opened for homeless people and drug users to use?
I don't think the city would pay for people to clean the bathrooms during the season where they don't even need to be opened, anyways. The only time that it should be opened is in the summer, where the parks are used a lot and there are hired people to clean the bathrooms on a regular basis. If you want your children to exercise in the parks, I am thinking you also want them to use a clean bathroom where they aren't risking seeing or touching something that they shouldn't.
