Letters: Campfire Ban

To the editor:

So in today's headlines there was yet another case whereby humans were responsible for a fire, this time a grass fire in the Postill Lake area. My question is, why isn't there a campfire ban in effect already knowing how dry the forests are?

Are we just going to sit back and wait for more careless humans to inflict destruction on our forests, wildlife, homes, and potentially lives? As much as I enjoy having a fire to sit around when I am camping, it is just not worth the risk. We all know how devastating the potential losses are. If the government isn't going to impose a ban anytime soon, why can't we all be responsible and think twice before lighting up?
