Make schools pay as you go

I have a simple solution for the education problem in BC.

Make it a pay as you go system.

The parents of children in school can cut a cheque each and every month directly to the schools.

Let the people who need the schools, and those who need the school jobs, negotiate directly with each other.

Otherwise, all government paid agencies should be declared essential.

If your job is so important that the government must fund and manage it, then it must also be essential.

And I'll leave you with a couple of numbers to work with. We are told by the media that there is around 41,000 teachers. We are further told that there is 570,000 students in the public school system.

Can someone please explain how you arrive at 30 kids per class? No matter how hard I try, I get 13.9 students. Of course, I realize that not all classes have 30 kids, nor 14.

All I do know is both sides to this fight are ignoring the people they claim to look out for. The kids.

How does cutting extra-curricular activities and not filling out report cards hurt anyone but the kids? Do you seriously think the Ministry is fretting about that? The wage demand is outrageous given the current economy.
