Passports On Time

This letter is in response about the "Passport Delivered On-time". They had mentioned that by going directly to the passport office does not decrease the amount of time it takes to process or to send the passport to you. I strongly disagree, I went to Mexico Jan 22/05, and on December 31/04 I drove from my home in Penticton to Surrey to hand in and apply for my family's passports. The customer service agent there confirmed that the passports will arrive at my house via express post on Jan 17/05. Well on Jan 12/05 my family's passports arrived.

If you go on to the Canadian Passport Website, it clearly tells you that if you apply in person, your passport will be processed and sent to you within 10 business days. If you apply thru mail (snail) you will receive your passport within 20 business days.

Also sometimes some situations arise, and it is not possible to "just be patient" and the need to have a passport office in the Okanagan would be a great asset to us all. It is not always convenient to drive to Kamloops or to the coast to get the passports processed.

G.C.
