There is a difference between thinking that the current problems at OUC will magically disappear, and sincerely hoping that new administration will be more capable in dealing with these problems. I never stated that UBC would be different, only that I do not believe that the problems couldn't be much worse. If I had to face another semester at this institution without any changes taking place, I would look elsewhere for my education.
I am only hoping that the UBC take-over leads to improvements in the quality of education, the comfort and safety of the students (like de-icing stairs and sidewalks and ensuring enough bathroom stalls are working so there aren't line-ups out the door every break), as well as the allocation of funds (like paving those pricey parking spots). I think that the promised 7500 more students will greatly strain the already inadequate parking and washroom facilities, and I hope that these concerns are also dealt with. I'm only hoping for change - not counting on it.
