Arts funding costly
To the editor: Re: Kelowna doles out arts funding Maybe our taxes wouldn’t be so high if we stopped allowing grants to be given out for non essential programs. I think it’s time our government started concentrating on the essentials and left things like the arts to be funded through their own means otherwise it just seems like a forced donation to me. The essentials are things like housing, transportation, education, and health care. It seems to be a problem on all levels of our government these days no matter who is elected. I guess I can always hope things will change for the better in the near future. Tamara White
