OUC is shut down again. The support staff is not getting paid, the professors are not getting paid, but OUC will not give students a tuition refund. Each student is losing approximately $15 per class missed - without taking into consideration the lost instruction.
If that isn't enough, OUC is adding a third story onto the Arts and Sciences buildings. This means constant noise, extremely loud banging, hammering, whatever it is they are doing up there. Try writing an exam worth 1/3 of your final mark while someone hammers into the roof above you.
As well, the students at OUC pay $45 a semester to park behind the teacher parking, most of which is an unpaved, muddy mess. Now, with the construction, the workers arrive before 8 am (the earliest class) and take up the paved student parking. I don't know about other students, but I feel like I'm being completely ripped off. I guess that the administration feels that the typical student has a lot of disposable income and time to spare. I just hope UBC does better, I don't know how they couldn't.
