I know I am comparing apples and oranges here but I just want to state my experience with Kelowna General Hospital  (KGH) and surgery.  I do sympathize with the young lady who had to wait five days for an emergency surgery.
This is indeed unfortunate.

However back in 2009 I required major surgery.  I was expecting to have a long wait period based on current media reports I had been reading. I was surprised at how quick the response was.  I needed several pre-surgery tests and these were done very quickly and my surgery followed, the whole ordeal probably took place within 30 days.

Then last September it was suggested that I have lung surgery.  Within a week the hospital called me and said
it could be done in about 10 days.  I asked to have it a couple of weeks later.

I think the services at KGH are awesome.
