A very dangerous intersection

To the editor:

Re: Wheelchair bound crash victim passes

I am so sorry to hear of another soul that has either been killed or seriously injured at the intersection of Harvey and Cooper.

To the family of Ryan Lanctot, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Accidents like Ryan’s are far to common.

My own 16-year-old son was struck at that same intersection on December 11, 2010.

He was a pedestrian crossing the street legally at the marked crosswalk and was struck by someone making an illegal left hand turn.

The police and ICBC are well aware of this intersection and how dangerous it has proven to be. Why isn’t something being done?

I was very blessed as my son is still alive and breathing, but it is obvious that this isn’t always the case.
