I must put my two cents in with all the letters coming into Castanet about the downtown situation.
I used to work part time down town in the summer and felt totally uncomfortable walking around during my lunch breaks or just to run simple errands.
Now the drug and homeless problem is getting to the point where proud business owners are fed up and in order to feel safe they have to relocate their businesses. I'm sorry, but what is going on with our city?
Its also saddens me that you can't even go out for a stroll at night to do some grocery shopping and get yourself killed along the way by a couple of white trash punks, who I might add will get a slap on the wrist as this seems to be the only way our wonderful government knows how to deal with criminals.
What is happening to our city? And why isn't the Mayor doing anything about it? The people of Kelowna are speaking out and city officials aren't listening.
I would love nothing more than to see the people of Kelowna take back our city, maybe hold a town meeting, and for once get the Mayor and the government off their lazy butts and start doing something about all the problems that are going on in our town.
A worried and concerned citizen.
C. Bennett.
