Murder in Kelowna - Night of the Living dead. I know that some of you at city hall read the comments posted on castanet. What is it going to take to get some action?
I pay my taxes, bend to all rules imposed on me be it opening a business, obeying building requirements or making U turns. Why is it that when I walk down some streets in Kelowna I feel as if I’m strolling through a scene from ‘The Night of the Living Dead’?
Why do we feel like sitting ducks waiting for our turn to get stopped on a street by strangers that rob, beat us or stab us to death? Why won’t anyone help us? Is it because your children and loved ones live far from these areas?
Is it because IQs drop sharply when there’s a crisis? Is it because your hands are literally tied? Or is it because you just don’t care?
If the Mayor of this city can’t do anything to help protect the citizens then it’s time to QUIT! Or people are going to move away and I imagine we are going to start witnessing public protests or worse, we will experience many more of these heinous crimes…..
Once and for all, we want a voice from city hall with a crystal clear message that you care and are going to take serious action to protect the good people of this city.
I suggest to anyone that reads this to start writing down what you feel and send it to city hall, the news papers etc.
The most important thing to do is to stay on top of this. Our government and city hall officials need a wake up call.
Remember none of us are immune to these random acts of violence, do it for your kids, your parents, your friends and yourselves.
