I am absolutely appalled at the behavior of the South Okanagan farmer "accused" of torturing an owl. After seeing the photograph of the owl and reading the story of Sherri Klein I am not only disturbed, but disgusted that a farmer of all people could behave this way.
I assumed a farmer would be respectful to animals as much of his livelihood depends on them, but this man obviously has little humanity in him to do something so incredibly cruel. If the owl was eating his chickens there are other ways of stopping it than severing it's legs. Because of the cruel, disgusting and inhumane behavior of this farmer, the endangered owl population has lost one more member due to human negligence and disregard as if the owl population wasn't small enough already.
