Parking and bike lanes

This letter is in regards to parking issues on Bach Road in Rutland.

We have a legal suite and therefore need a certain amount of parking spaces. As of late the whole street has been receiving complaints from Bylaws in regards to parking on the street.

There apparently is a bike lane and no one is allowed to park there.

We understand it is only one person who repeatedly complains that they cannot  use the lane.

This is a huge area, big enough for cars and bikes. There are wide bike lanes on both sides.

Here is the question. Where are residents and visitors supposed to park?

This is a residential area and for the last 5 years we have never had a complaint.  It is not just us that is affected but the whole road. There must be a solution that both can benefit from this area.

Can bike lanes be reduced to smaller areas so that vehicles can still park?

It would be appreciated if the person who complains daily would consider others peoples situations.

The area is there for everyone, not just the one or two persons who use the bike lane.

It might be different if there was major bike traffic but as a stay home Mom I have made a point on watching to see how many use that lane. There might be two or three bikes per day.

Is it really necessary to make everyone's life difficult? Consideration is really the key here so that this area can be used by both - homeowners and bike user.
